Hi I'm Ashton

I'm from Texas. I love football. And I am serving in the Oregon Eugene Mission! I love people and love the Lord!

About Me

I love playing guitar. I played football in high school! I love the scriptures! I read them daily. I love spending time with my family. I am serving in the Oregon Eugene Mission. I love this gospel so much!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born under the covenant and raised in the church but my first step father wasn't the best person to be around. I was pretty depressed. My second step father was an atheist and he influenced me very heavily and I fell away from the church. I became an atheist myself. I found myself doing things that I knew were wrong. My friends from church saw me and I guess decided to help me. They started to "drag" me to church but I eventually started to beat them to church. I found myself reading the scriptures and found a renewed faith in the Savior Jesus Christ. I am so grateful for those friends. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the one true church. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet and that he did translate the Book of Mormon. I know that the church is lead by a prophet today.

How I live my faith

I try to be a good example, but I'm not perfect! I try to watch what I say and do so others know that I hold myself to a higher standard then the rest of the world. I love serving in all of my callings the best that I can. I do my best to share the gospel with others. I am really loving being a missionary! I love to help others in any way that I can.

Who is the Mormon prophet today?

The current president of the church is Thomas S. Monson but we sustain the general authorities as prophets seers and revelators Show more Show less

What does Mormonism teach regarding baptism?

Baptism is the first step of many! It is the gate that leads to the path of eternal life. Baptism is an ordinance or a sacred act that you do to show your love and devotion to Heavenly Father and our Savior. Jesus Christ was baptized to "fulfill all righteousness." If He was truly sinless and perfect like all of Christians believe he was and it is as he said the gate to eternal life, how much more need have we to be baptized. Show more Show less
