Hi I'm Joseph W.

I'm a friend, helper, brother, teacher, missionary, country music lover, FFA member, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the small farming community of Palouse Washington. I'm currently 18 years old and the youngest of 3 siblings. My mom is a stay at home mom and my dad works at the Washington State University Alumni Center. I love small town and country living. I enjoy pickup trucks and debating with my brothers about which truck brand is the best. I'm a huge country music fan and enjoy the outdoors. My hobbies include trap shooting, others types of shooting and video games. I was a four year Future Farmers of America (FFA) Member. I was involved heavily in FFA throughout high school and participated in many FFA events such as Land evaluation, Livestock judging, Ag. Mechanics and Trap Shooting. Also I raised lambs for the fair. I went to a small school where my graduating class consisted of 25 students. The entire student body on a good year is only about 80. I was one of two LDS students at our high school, then for about a year and a half the only LDS student. And at a small school that might not be so bad but 1/80 is a big ratio. I attend a small branch and was the only young man in or young men's program for several years. It wasn't so bad I got to call all the shots and make all the decisions so in a way it was kinda fun. I'm a seminary graduate and was just called to serve a full time mission in the Farmington New Mexico Mission. I've worked a lot with landscaping based jobs. I currently am called as a primary worker and love to teach the children about Jesus.

Why I am a Mormon

I truly see the work of Christ's hand in everything we do. I believe that God would not let his people wander in darkness and will provide a way for them. I have never had a negative feeling while attending this Church. Every week while attending church I'm always overcome with this wonderful feeling of God's love that He does exist and he really has put in motion this church to help his children on the earth today. I believe the teachings and doctrine and have been blessed by applying them in my life. I have studied other religions and have found good things within them but I have never found anything with as complete a knowledge of the Gospel or greater love and understanding of the Savior than this Church. I love the knowledge and teachings I revive every week. I love the people and the great fellowship and companionship everyone feels toward one another. I have felt of Christ's great redeeming power; I see it and feel it every day. I'm Mormon because the gospel is true. I want to live my life and always follow Christ's example and have found no better way than this Church. Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and really did see God the Father and His Son in the Flesh. God will not lead his followers astray. The Book of Mormon is a great gift it gives us more understanding and proof that Jesus is the Christ. I'm so very thankful for the modern day leaders that can get the same inspiration and guidance as of old. God loves all his children so he provided a way for them to receive his light and teachings in the past and in the present day.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being an example to others. I believe that actions really do speak louder than words. I teach primary lessons at least once a month but get to be involved with other primary lessons every Sunday. I love to give service to those in need and am always willing to help. I was our church's family history consultant and was able to discover great things about my family. I help many of the elderly woman in our community with service and by listening to them and getting to know them. I was recently called to serve a full time mission and will be living this faith and teaching it on a daily basis even more and in greater ways than I am now.
