Hi I'm Brody Rasmussen

I spent my childhood moving throughout the United States, I'm a brother, a lover of music, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Growing up, our family moved a ton! My dad spent some time trying his hand at entrepreneurial work, and that required the rest of us being light on our feet. For me, my older sister, and my three younger brothers, it turned out to be an incredibly strong bonding experience, and we came to be very close through our constant migrations. My family is highly computer literate, and I'm currently going to school for a Computer Science degree. I've always been interested in the creative industry, so I'm hoping to find a minor that will help me express my interests. Maybe something related to video games, or music...? Not quite sure yet, haha! I love finding games to play with family and friends; my family prides themselves in discovering new card/board games, and many friends of mine share an interest in video games. After moving to California, I discovered an interest in performance, and cultivated it through my school's drama, choir, and improvisation groups. I hope to find an outlet for this at my college.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church; my father comes from Pioneer heritage, and my mother's parents were converts. However, throughout all the places I've lived, and with all the people I've met, I've never met any group with the same happiness as the members of the church. The same resilience to hardship. The gospel taught in the Book of Mormon contains the fullest truths that can be found on this Earth, and acts as a perfect companion to the Bible. I share sincere testimony that I believe that this is Christ's church on the Earth today, and that we have been given a living prophet to lead it.

How I live my faith

Throughout all the places I've lived, members of the church have always been a source of support, friendship, and encouragement to me. Because of this, I have always made an effort to serve the people I live around. I've had the privilege of becoming a leader in my local Boy Scout troop, I've been able to give lessons of the gospel to members in their homes, and I even spent some time as the First Assistant to the Bishop of our ward. Jesus Christ gave us the example of service, and I'm trying to follow that example.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

After all the comfort and peace the gospel has brought to the lives of a missionary, it could seem a little selfish to not share it with others! As a missionary, I hope to share some of the happiness I've experienced with those I'll be serving. Show more Show less
