Hi I'm Tyler

I love soccer. I love the outdoors. I do hard things. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

When I was 14 I joined a community Venturing Crew. It's a lot like Boy Scouts, but we focus a lot more on teaching, high adventure activities, and having the youth be the leaders. We met every other week through out the year, and every time we met I learned something new about myself. I learned how much I love the outdoors and trying new things. I learned I love pushing my limits. Soon all of my friends had joined this community Venturing Crew as well. Now we all go and do the things we have learned for fun. Rock climbing, mountain biking, canoeing, running, and playing sports together. We love to have fun.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member my whole life. My parents were members of the church, so I grew up coming to church with them. But I don't think I really knew that this church was true until my mom decided to make me join this religious choir that was set up near my home. All of the choir members were also members of the LDS church and they met every Saturday morning at 7 am to practice singing. The choir strictly sang religious songs, whether they were hymns, or arrangements of hymns, or just songs that talked about our Savior, Jesus Christ. The big thing that everybody looked forward to, was the choir tour that we went on during the summer. We would travel to a place that was selected by our directors, to perform the songs we had learned, and to share the message of Jesus Christ. On my first tour that I went on, I was excited to go, but mostly because I would get to be with my friends for a week. I had a fun time as we traveled and as I got to be with my friends, but then during one of our performances, I felt the Spirit of the Lord so strongly as we sang. I knew what I was singing was true. I knew that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was the restored church of God on the earth today. I knew it, and I have never doubted it since.

How I live my faith

I have been called to serve as a missionary. I will be serving in the Washington DC South mission. This means that I have the opportunity to teach other people about this church, and about our Savior, Jesus Christ.
