Hi I'm Erik Fronberg

I'm a budding scientist, dedicated student, and active missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love studying ecology, sustainability, and urban development. I will be pursuing a degree in Urban Ecology after returning from my two-year mission in South Korea. When I'm not studying or attending lecture I spend time at the piano. Chopan is my favorite composer! I also play anything with strings, mainly viola and guitar but could use more practice. I enjoy spending time with my yours-mine-and-ours family and adore all five of my siblings. I have a tight-knit group of friends who are my support crew and lifeline but like to meet new people when I can.

Why I am a Mormon

For most of my life I took religion for granted; I never critically looked at my beliefs until high school when I was preparing to serve a mission. Many of my friends have different outlooks on religion and I started asking myself if they could be right and I could be wrong. I tried looking analytically at what I was doing and where I was headed in life. Did the LDS Church really need to be a part of it? I read the Book of Mormon and prayed for confirmation it was true. I was expecting a feeling of comfort or assurance to envelope me, as many of my adult teachers had described, when I finished my prayer. That did not happen. I can remember being in tears because I felt like I was not getting the answer I deserved. Conversion to true faith came slowly for me. I did not gain my initial faith from Book of Mormon stories but rather through the words of Joseph Smith. Over a period months I studied his revelations in the Doctrine and Covenants, his account of his first vision, and other historical sources. I knew that they were the words of a prophet. I cannot explain how I know, but there is no doubt left in my mind as to the divinity of that man's calling. It's been important for me to know that there are men chosen by God to lead us today. I have many people in my life that I look to as heroes, but now there is none greater in my mind than the prophet Joseph. I have an modern example of someone willing to follow Christ to the end. My testimony of the prophet Joseph, and of the truth of what he did, is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as a full-time missionary in South Korea. Being a missionary is all about teaching and serving others. I love the gospel and love my calling in it. In the past I've been a leader in various youth groups and have organized service and community outreach programs.
