Hi I'm Twila

I grew up in a small town called Superior. I'm a Free Thinker. I am a Latter Day Saint.

About Me

Growing up, I didn't really know how to express my emotions, and so an outlet for me was through the arts. It was a way I felt connected with myself. I could feel without thinking too much into it. I chose to be a hairstylist because I like to make people feel good and look their best. I am now learning that I like to teach; It's a way I can use my creativity to help others grow. Music is one of the biggest blessings in my life! I prefer the instrumental, softer female vocal chill-step.

Why I am a Mormon

I am the type of person who likes to hear what everyone has to say, no matter what religion, race, gender, or age. I'm intuitive and if something feels good, I listen even closer. At the same time, because of the things I experienced in my life, I didn't trust anyone. However, I kept what was said in mind. While listening to what the missionaries had to say, I became excited! I wanted to meet with them more and more to have conversations about life. Every time we talked, there was such harmony and good, loving vibes. I never wanted to leave, but sit and talk and ask questions. I was so intrigued and finally felt like I belonged. I knew without a doubt that I needed to be baptized by the same authority Jesus was baptized with, by the priesthood. Since then, I have always felt those feelings of love, peace and belonging, as long as I did the simple things such as having faith, reading scriptures, praying, being quick to repent and take sacrament. It has been a cleansing process that is bitter and at the same time, so, so sweet. I realized that whatever I denied and ignored, I delayed and whatever I accepted and faced with Christ, I was able to conquer. For now, I am the only one in my mortal family in this generation to have made this decision, but I know I can rely on the strength of my Savior to help me through every step of the way. I'm like a shooting star, I can't go back to who I was. I won't go back. I love His gospel so much. I love Him so much. He is the gospel. He saved me from darkness and confusion. He is my everything.

How I live my faith

I was recently called to be a primary teacher! I'm super excited about that because I love children. They are the ones who inherit the kingdom of God. I'm more excited to learn from them. They are so genuine and ask amazing questions that get the gears turning in my own brain. I also search out my ancestors, my family tree just keeps growing bigger and bigger!

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Twila
When we learn about the love of God for us, it's something hard to fully comprehend and take in. Coming to that understanding takes time and faith. Something that helped me to learn the truth of our prophet today was to actually listen what Thomas Monson had to say. One thing Heavenly father promised us in Deuteronomy 18:20, is that if he be a true prophet, his words that are declared in the name of the Lord will come to pass. I can testify that Thomas is a true prophet because everything he declares has happened. Also, the more I learned what my Father in Heaven sounded like, the more I heard His voice when the prophet spoke. It's a voice of love and peace. Always ask to know. The Holy Ghost will manifest the truth to your heart. Show more Show less
