Hi I'm LaRisa

I'm a Licensed Massage Therapist and I love my career. I enjoy reading, being outside, and spending time with family. I'm a Mormon

About Me

My name is LaRisa, I tend to go by Risa or Ris. I am currently serving a mission in the Washington DC South Mission. Before serving I was a Licensed Massage Therapist and I absolutely loved my career. Once I finish my mission I plan on returning home and starting up my own practice! I love to spend as much time reading that I can. You can almost always find me sitting by a fire or in a comfy chair, curled up enjoying a new book! And when I'm not reading I like to spend time outside. I grew up in a small town in Southern Utah and I thoroughly enjoy hunting, camping, hiking, trail blazen and sittin aroung a camp fire. I definitely grew up in the most spectacular and beautiful part of the country! I am the middle of five children, with two older brothers and two younger brothers. I wouldn't have it any other way! My grandma always taught me to appreciate the little things that God gave us and so I always try to take a moment to look at the stars and enjoy a sunset.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I love the comfort and peace that the gospel brings to my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by always doing my best to be a good example to those around. I try to keep in mind that someone is always watching and that I may be the means to them either loving the gospel or being pushed away. I want people to know the Savior through my actions and the way I live my life.

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

We perform baptisms for the dead because we know that this life isn't the end. When we are baptized here during mortality we see the blessings that come from following the teachings of the Savior. And when we experience those blessings, we in turn have the desire to share it with those who never had the opportunity to be baptized during their earthly life. We stand in as a proxy to help those we love and even those we don't know receive the blessings and promises that come through this sacred ordinance. Show more Show less
