Hi I'm Mary

I grew up in Wisconsin and attended catholic school for twelve years. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a mom of two children and have seven grandchildren. My family is a blessing to me and I love spending time with them. I enjoy sailing, reading, hiking, and fishing. I love to travel and visit other countries and cultures. I am retired from working part time at a local elementary school for 24 years. I thought I was busy then, but since retirement I am busier! Life is good.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up in a Christian home has been a blessing in my life. It provided a foundation in learning about God and Jesus Christ. It also prepared me to someday meet the missionaries and gain more knowledge of the gospel of Jesus Christ. It wasn't always easy for me. It took time, because change was difficult for me. It's important to let the Holy Ghost guide you, not fear. Through the years, the Holy Ghost has guided me, and witnessed to me the truthfulness of these things the missionaries taught me many years ago. I have realized the importance of action on my part in being converted to the gospel. And now, forty years later, I am able to follow in the footsteps of those young missionaries that taught me so long ago. My husband and I have been called to serve a full-time mission in the Adriatic North Mission. We are excited to share with our brothers and sisters in Eastern Europe, those things that have brought our family joy and happiness. Life is good!

How I live my faith

I was involved with the Big Brothers/Big Sister's Organization where I had a "little" sister for several years. She turned 18 and we graduated from the program. I have worked with the youth in the church for many years. When my children were in school, I was involved in PTO and loved chaperoning the dances. I have volunteered time at the annual school store which provides clothing and supplies to children in need. How fun it is to be matched with a child, and help them pick out an outfit, new shoes, and school supplies for the new school year. When I volunteer my time, I am gaining much more than I give. Each one of us has gifts to share. We need to find what those gifts are and use them to serve and love others.
