Hi I'm Alana

I grew up in Hawaii. I love photography. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student, I am a daughter, I am a sister and I am photographer. I love the ocean, I played water polo in high school and loved spending time at the beach with my family. Growing up in Hawaii I was surrounded by many different cultures and ethnicities. My own ethnicities include Hawaiian, Chinese and Caucasian. I love experiencing other cultures and sharing my culture with others.

Why I am a Mormon

I have chosen to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because it has brought me closer to my Savior. I am a Mormon because the gospel brings happiness into my life that I can't find anywhere else. I have read the Book of Mormon and lived the gospel principles and found that my life is better when I am putting the Lord first. This doesn't mean that hard times don't come, but the gospel has given me hope in the darkest of times and reminded me that I am never alone in this journey called life. I continue to be a Mormon because I love my Heavenly Father and Savior. I love the gospel, I love how it has changed me into a better version of myself. I know that Heavenly Father loves us, I know that He loves you. I am a Mormon because I know that this gospel is true. I know that we have living a living prophet on the earth today who leads and guides us. I know that the Prophet is called of God. I know that there is a reason we are on the Earth, it wasn't just by chance. I know that there is a plan for each of us and that if we put our trust in Heavenly Father and put Him first, He will bless us. I know that Jesus Christ lives, He is our elder brother and He loves us. I know the Book of Mormon is true and that it testifies of Jesus Christ. Being a Mormon has taught me who I am and who I can become. I know that I am a daughter of God, I love Him and I know that He loves me.

How I live my faith

I have recently been called to serve as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In other words, I will be leaving my family and putting my life on hold for the next 18 months to serve a voluntary mission. I decided to do this because the values and principles that I have been taught since I was young have shape my life. The gospel has brought so much joy and hope to my life and I want to share that with anyone who is interested. While it will be difficult to leave my family, it is a sacrifice that I am willing to make. I am excited for the opportunity I have to serve my Heavenly Father. I want to share the blessings that come from the gospel with others around me. I have faith that Heavenly Father has a plan for each of us and that as we put our trust in Him, He will guide us.
