Hi I'm D. Cade Sivertsen

I live in Cedar City and love playing/listening to music(piano mostly), reading, tennis, skateboarding and such. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My middle name, Cade, is usually what people call me. I am 18, from Cedar City, Utah(though proudly born in Las Vegas, NV and raised there for 14 years) and I am currently serving a mission with a temporary assignment in the Oakland/San Francisco CA mission and off to Bahia Blanca, Argentina soon. My favorite thing to do is to play the piano, but I have many other good hobbies not limited to; tennis, percussion, skate/long boarding, reading, exercising, and etc. I love going to bodies of water, hiking, experiencing beautiful or unique weather, going out to do stupid(but not too stupid)things with my friends, and being with my family. There are a lot of good things that I love and do. Currently, study Spanish is one of them because of its importance in my mission call(s). Proud HS graduate from Cedar City High School.

Why I am a Mormon

Being born and raised LDS, it is easy to say, that is why I am a Mormon. But it really isn't easy. My faith is so far from perfect or even strong but I am a Mormon because it has blessed me so much. I was raised in a happy, family-oriented home, I made friends who would never expect me to do something stupid, I had leaders who encouraged me to do my best and guided me through difficulties, I learned so much through programs like the Boy Scouts of America, I have learned about the Bible and the Book of Mormon and their good teachings, and now I am a missionary where I experience something crazy everyday. I am a Mormon because with the little faith that I have, I will find happiness and will know why I am here, and how I can obtain the best things this world has to offer.

How I live my faith

How do I live my faith? Well, it isn't easy by any means, but I think it is worth it. I look at the good in the world and put it all together and think, 'how can one person be this, or what do they need to do to become it?' I live my faith simply by striving to be the best that I can be, which is only good if what I think is the best is synonymous with my faith's beliefs. So rather than simply, 'read scriptures, attend sacrament meeting, etc' I need to be an example to everyone, everywhere, in the best way possible. I need to help others, excel in what I can. I am a missionary right now so I literally must live my faith at all times. I preach, serve others, teach, bless, and things of that religious nature. I live my faith by trying to live my faith. Simply put, I do what I must because I can.
