Hi I'm Zachary

Lived in Utah and Kansas. My favorite color is green. I am serving my mission in the Nevada Las Vegas West Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to play chess. I was on my high school's chess club for 3 years. Ran track at my high school for 3 years and I was on the varsity team, but hated every minute of it. I am have knowledge of using SolidWorks and AutoCAD. I have competed in 3-D mechanical drafting at the State level and qualified for nationals. I graduated high school in 2015. I got my Mission Call to serve in Nevada Las Vegas West Mission. I currently am serving my mission in the Nevada, Las Vegas West mission. I have been serving now for 21 months. I have been a Mormon my whole life, and it has been such a blessing and love sharing my faith with the wonderful people of Las Vegas!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this faith. My parents have taught me the truthfulness of this gospel. I have read the Book of Mormon and have prayed to know for myself the truthfulness of it. I know that this church is the true church. As I have studied to know for myself if this is Christ's church I have felt the influence of the Holy Ghost and he has testified to me that this truly is Christ's church. I have been blessed greatly because of my faith, I know who I need to turn to in my hard times, how I can pray to my Father in Heaven, and a knowledge that my Father in Heaven loves me and wants the best for me.

How I live my faith

I have served on my stake youth committee to help organize that years stake youth conference. I have also been the Seminary, Deacons and Teachers quorums president. Then I was the home teacher of an elderly lady whom I brought the sacrament to each week because she couldn't make it to church. Now I am serving the Lord and his church by serving a full time mission in Las Vegas, Nevada. I am helping others come to the knowledge of Christ and his wonderful gift of the Atonement that he has given to us all.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

No of course not. The church has always been willing to help others out in their time of need. We believe that when we serve others we are serving God. So of course we help others who are not Mormon. We look to help any where and every where we can. The church has many different programs to help others, even those who aren't even christian. We will always be willing to help any one in need. Who chooses the Mormon prophet?

God is the one who decides who the next prophet will be. He does this by having the senior apostle take place as the new prophet for the world. The senior apostle is the apostle who has served the longest as an apostle. Apostles are chosen by inspiration from God by the council of the 12 apostles. In this way God organizes the order of his church by those he chooses. Show more Show less

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

The best way for anyone who is not now a member of the church to learn more of their father in heaven is to talk to some missionaries. They will teach you how you can talk to God, how God talks to you, and how God can bless you. They will teach you that it is by prayer to our Father in Heaven that we talk to God. We can tell him anything and everything that is on our mind, our concerns, our gratitude, and our struggles. To learn what God would say to us we read the scriptures because it is the word of God. We keep God's commandments because he has promised us blessing by living them and to show our love for our Father in Heaven. As we do those things we will come to have a greater understanding of our Heavenly Father. Show more Show less
