Hi I'm June

I was born in Hong Kong and immigrated to Canada when I was 13. I live in the United States now and just retired. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am retired. I was a Dental Hygienist before I had the privilege of becoming a stay home mom , then I went back to get a masters degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine after the children left home. I practiced for 8 years. I love music but did not have a chance to take lessons until I was married. At different periods of my life, I had the opportunity to take some lessons and got to play a bit of classical guitar, violin, and last year, I started taking piano lessons. While I am not a musician by any means, I do love to make music. I also enjoy reading and learning about all kinds of things but particularly things related to health and how to maintain physical and spiritual health.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church with my parents and family as a child and as far back as I can remember, I love the principles of the gospel because they made perfect sense to me. I am a peace loving person and to me the teachings of the gospel bring just that. As I live the teachings of Jesus Christ, I feel peace and deep joy. I love nothing more than to live in a peaceful world and know that if we all live the teachings of Jesus Christ and strive to be obedient to His commandments, we can create a peaceful world to live in. I love the Plan of Salvation that God has revealed to us, that knowledge makes my life so meaningful because I know exactly what my goal is from an eternal perspective. Working hard to improve and overcome challenges in this life become very meaningful and worthwhile when we know that God loves us and has a plan for us. I know that when we follow the Savior's teachings, we feel good about ourselves and we are on a path to everlasting happiness. I am grateful to know that there is a purpose in this life and to know what God has plans for us after this life.

How I live my faith

Serving in church is a part of my life. I have enjoyed organizing social activities and participating in service projects such as finishing quilts to give to those who need them, working in soup kitchens, helping out at Goodwill Stores etc. I enjoy going out to visit members of the congregation on a regular basis and get to know people on a personal level.
