Hi I'm Rachel!

I'm a Utah girl, born and raised. I play the piano and viola. I love to laugh. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Rachel. My family isn't that big...I have an older brother, a younger brother, and one sister. This year I have discovered my new favorite class: seminary! I normally wake up at 5:40 (ugh!) and try to go to bed by 8:30. I love to sleep in, which for me is about 8, if one of my family members does not wake me up before then! I love the summer time! No school! I just learned how to knit and crochet. I love drawing, watching movies, playing basketball and softball, hanging out with friends and family, ice cream, and dogs.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that it is the only thing that can bring true and lasting happiness. I am a Mormon because I was born into a good LDS family. They helped me to gain a testimony and now I have my own. This year I read the Doctrine and Covenants all the way through which I had never done before and I know all that is written there is true. Joseph Smith did restore the gospel and he did receive revelations from Heavenly Father. I am a Mormon because it brings peace and reassurance. I am a Mormon because I want to return to my Father in Heaven.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being an example. At school, when my friends who aren't members of the Church ask questions I am prepared to answer them as best as I can and I live the gospel. In my ward I am the Mia Maid president and a Youth Indexing Trainer. Every Wednesday before mutual I go into our family history center and do indexing. I read my scriptures every morning, which helps my testimony grow. I say personal prayers in the morning when I wake up, before I go to bed, and any time in between that I need to. I sing in my ward's choir to express my love for Heavenly Father.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Rachel!
Mormons believe that when a man and woman are married in the temple they and their family are sealed together for all time and eternity. Even after death. Since we will be together forever we want to be friends. It is good to have a good relationship with your family because they can strengthen us. Show more Show less
