Hi I'm Benjamin Jewkes

I grew up in Utah. I play the String Bass. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I just recently graduated from High School. I was really involved in my school. I play both the String Bass and the Bass Guitar. I have used both to be a part of several musical groups in the school. I have played bass for 9 years and during those years I had been in Orchestra, played for the High School band a few times, and played in 3 musicals performed at my high school. I was also an athlete as I participated in Cross-Country and Track and Field. I wasn't really a fast runner but in Track I competed in the Shotput, Discus, and Javelin. I had placed 8th at the state level as a senior in high school. I would love to compete at the collegiate level, but we'll see what happens in the future. I am heading to a mission in Riverside, CA in July. After my mission, I plan to attend college and get a degree in Mechanical Engineering. I am the 3rd oldest child in our family out of 7 children.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I was born into an LDS family but I choose to stay a Mormon because the gospel gives me happiness and peace when I need it in a busy, chaotic world. I am also a Mormon because the gospel leads me to a happy life and I love to help and influence those around me. I am a Mormon so that I can help others become better people.

How I live my faith

I have been in many leadership roles from a secretary to president of many groups. I have also lead several peers for training to become future Melchizedek priesthood holders in an Aaronic Priesthood Training Camp. Something that I take a huge part in is taking the sacrament to those who can't attend sacrament due to illness or age.
