Hi I'm James Woods

I love friends, running and my home state of Oregon. I'm a BYU student who loves to learn. Now I'm serving a mission in Bulgaria.

About Me

I've always been a curious student and I love to learn the science behind why the world works. I just finished my first year at BYU studying Molecular Biology. At college I enjoyed building strong friendships with people that share my standards and yet have different life experiences than me. I also love long distance running and hiking. Now I'm spending two years of my life sharing the gospel with the people of Bulgaria.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a Mormon all my life but, like most people, I've wrestled with my share of doubts. I have had many spiritual witnesses that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true, and I know that the blessings that come from faith, prayer, modern prophets and the Atonement of Jesus Christ far outweigh my momentary trials of faith. I have felt the atonement in my life and I have felt the Spirit testify to me of truth. Even when life is difficult and it would be easier not to believe, I look back on what I have felt in the past and I choose to keep my faith. And I have definitely been blessed for it.

How I live my faith

I've served in quorum leadership callings and as part of a service committee. The most rewarding calling I've had however is as a home teacher. Developing relationships with people that I wouldn't have gotten to know otherwise has been a great blessing. I look forward to meeting and serving many more people on my mission in Bulgaria.
