Hi I'm Hannah

I am a piano teacher and music lover. I am an adventure seeker and travel enthusiast. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently preparing to serve a mission in the Ecuador Guayaquil North mission. Prior to receiving my call to serve I completed one year at a university studying Bilingual Education. I have also been teaching piano for three years. Teaching is one of my passions and I am so thrilled that I will be teaching the gospel for 18 months in Ecuador. I am the oldest of five children and I can honestly say my siblings are some of my best friends. I love them so much! When I am not playing the piano or reading from my book collection, I enjoy running and being active. Overall, I am a big fan of life and all the adventures that come up along the way.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints my entire life. My parents raised me with daily scripture study and family prayer. It would have been easy for me to rely on the testimonies of my parents, but as I have grown older, I have discovered the importance of having my own testimony. Instead of attending my church meetings and reading my scriptures because I am instructed to by my parents, I do those things because I have the desire to. That desire comes from the immense peace and happiness I feel when I do those things that bring me closer to my Savior, Jesus Christ. Being a Mormon is not just my religion, it is my way of life. The way the gospel makes me feel inspires me to live my life the way that I do. Because of my love for the gospel of Jesus Christ I go to church every single Sunday, I pray morning and night and throughout the day, I dress modestly, I strive to be kind to everyone I come in contact with, and I am serving an 18 month mission in Ecuador. My knowledge of the truthfulness of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is everything to me and makes me the person that I am.

How I live my faith

I have been blessed with many opportunities to serve in my community and church. Heavenly Father has given me the talent of being able to play the piano and I have been able to help others with this talent. In my ward I am one of the organists and have been since I was 15 years old. I also play the piano for the Spanish ward that is in my stake. Attending their meetings has been such a blessing to me as it has helped me learn Spanish in preparation for my mission in Ecuador. Along with providing music for both the English and Spanish ward, I am also the singing time, or music, teacher in the primary with the children. I love this calling so much and I really feel that I learn more from my sweet children than I could ever teach them.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Missionaries for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are volunteers that come from all parts of the earth. The Church assigns them to a mission for 18-24 months. It is not required that everyone serves a mission, but we are taught that all able young men should serve. Young women can serve if they feel prompted to, but more emphasis is placed on the men to serve a mission. Young adults of ages 18-19, retired seniors, and married couples all have the opportunity to serve a mission. Show more Show less
