Hi I'm Mayme

I love to laugh with my friends; I love to make new ones. It makes me happy to sing!(... but I'm not very good.) :) I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm a young adult trying to live with a good balance of joy and sorrow to keep me well rounded on my journey through life. Some people say I'm pretty nerdy but that's okay because some people say that cloudy, rainy days are the worst but I love them! I grew up in a family that moved a good deal and so I've gotten pretty adept at adapting and meeting new people in new places. If I can say something funny to make you laugh I probably will! It'll make us both feel good! If you ask me to tell you something cool about my self I'll typically rely on my trusty and truthful line: "I can pogo stick and jump rope at the same time"! I'll soon be serving a full time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I feel very thankful to have grown up in the church but I admire how appreciative and zealous new members can be who didn't have that background previously in their life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church. Growing up I felt the love and good energy of the people who taught, lead, and inspired me to make good decisions to be happy. I have a testimony of agency which is our Heavenly Fathers wonderful gift of freedom of choice. I have chosen to stay in the church because living the principles and doctrines of Jesus Christ and enjoying the blessing of His authorized priesthood power in His church is the happiest way that I know of to live my life. I have come to know that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me perfectly and wants me to develop a strong character and be able to return to Him some day to live in eternal happiness. I have come to know that through the Atonement of Jesus Christ I can be cleansed and forgiven of the mistakes I've made and will make in my life and that I can receive comfort and assurance from a perfect being who loves me so much that He provided me (and everyone!) with the opportunity to become like Him. I have felt and continue to feel my Saviors love and that is why I'm a member of His church today. That is why I'm a "Mormon"! :)

How I live my faith

I strive to live my faith by first having and continuing to develop my essential relationship with our Heavenly Father. It all starts there for me. Reading from the New Testament and the Book of Mormon especially allow me to know about Jesus Christ's perfect love and ministry on the earth and gives me a great example to follow. Through daily prayer and study I strive to keep in tune with the Holy Ghost who guides and helps me in so many aspects of my life. For example when I sometimes teach the younger children on Sunday's the Holy Ghost can help me express just the right thing to reach them. We always have a great time! Through the Holy Ghost I am led to and offered opportunities everyday to serve, uplift, and inspire other people. Holding the door for people, picking up the litter in my neighborhood where I walk, visiting with friends in need or sending them a happy message... Just small and simple everyday things that allow me to act on what I believe to be true and become a light shining as best I can for Jesus Christ.
