Hi I'm Lavilyrose Kivalu

I love my family and my culture, sharing this gospel through music is what I love best, I love this gospel & I am a Mormon:)

About Me

I love to sing and play the ukulele. I have this drive for whenever I hear a song and the message it carries I straight away grab my music journal and my ukulele and write down the lyrics and the chords because it intrigues me so much, that I just got to sit down and learn it for myself. The same thing applies to when I'm learning a dance; I love sharing my Tongan culture with others through dance. Ever since I was little, I've been self taught with a few things. For example, I've always wanted to learn how to play the ukulele. I would always ask around or ask my friends, but no one wouldn't want to teach me. So, I just sat down one day and just taught myself how to play the ukulele without anyone teaching me. Ever since then, I'm basically self taught to things that I take interest into learning.

Why I am a Mormon

I have a testimony of this gospel that it is true. Joseph Smith had a question to know which church was true and from prayer, he received his answer. God the Father and Jesus Christ appeared unto Joseph and told him that none of them were true and that his church was not on this earth. Joseph Smith restored this gospel. I personally am grateful that he did that because if it wasn't for him to do that, I know that we would be lost. This gospel brings me happiness, comfort, and safety. I'm grateful for the power of prayer and scriptures. I know that if I am ever having a hard time in life; no matter what it is, I can go to my Father in Heaven and pray to him for guidance and comfort and that I can search the scriptures for answers. I know that we have a living prophet today. His name is Thomas S. Monson, and that he was called of God to guide us in these latter days. I know that our Lord and Savior lives. He atoned for our sins so we can repent and be able to make it back and live with him again. I love this gospel and am truly grateful to grow up in this gospel. Such happiness and great comfort it brings to me and for the knowledge I have in this gospel. Families are forever. I know these things to be true and I say that in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I have a favorite scripture and it's found in 1 Timothy 4:12 it says "Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity." I have this scripture verse in a picture frame in lovely printing, hanging on my bedroom wall. Everyday before I leave, I read that scripture. I may not be a perfect person but I do try my best to live as an example to those around me. It's an everyday challenge, but that is why I'm grateful for our Saviors atoning sacrifice to make it possible for us to repent and start all over and do our best again and again. I live my faith by being a good example to others. It may be a small thing but to me it makes a difference. Being humble towards what I am asked to do and go without questioning says a lot & from that small example it makes others want to do so to. There's always someone watching our actions even when we don't even know it and it puts a good affect on them as well.
