Hi I'm Rilie

I'm a Mormon... daughter of a loving Heavenly Father and called to serve.

About Me

I am a college student with plans to major in microbiology, attend medical school, and pursue a career in Neurosurgery. I love knowledge and I strive to be an educated individual. Despite having a strong inner personality, I do enjoy being a relaxed, fun, loving individual. I am an avid NBA supporter with the Utah Jazz being my favorite team. I love playing softball, being outdoors, river rafting, four wheeling, hiking, exercising, biking, bowling, snowboarding, reading, and listening to country music, especially Blake Shelton. Most importantly, I love spending quality time with my friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel of Jesus Christ provides purpose, direction, protection, and happiness. I know that Heavenly Father lives, and that He loves me. I know that He has a plan for me and is constantly listening to my prayers and directing my paths. I know the scriptures are the word of God and contain endless knowledge. I know that families are forever and that the blessings of the temple and of the eternities are real. I know Thomas S. Monson is a true prophet of God sent to lead and direct His church through inspiration and revelation from Heavenly Father. I know that we go through trials to learn and to increase our faith. I know that through the Atonement and sacrifice of Jesus Christ, I can be forgiven of my sins and return to live with Him again. I know that exact obedience and righteousness brings bounteous blessings. I know that being a member of His church is where I will always find true happiness, peace, and comfort. I will always choose to serve my Heavenly Father and Savior, do their will, and be a witness of them.

How I live my faith

Although I do not have an official calling in my church, I am always involved in sharing the great news of being a Mormon. I always look for opportunities to serve others, be a helping hand, and share my testimony. I have received my mission call to serve in Mexico and have recently attended the LDS temple. While I am in the process of preparing, not only am I increasing my faith and understanding, but I am growing in knowledge to share the marvelous restored gospel with others and to invite them to come.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Rilie
Males are asked/commanded to serve a full-time 2 year mission when they reach the age of 18. Females have the option to serve a full-time 18 month mission when they have reached the age of 19. Ultimately, us as individuals use our free-agency to choose whether or not we accept the call to serve. If we do choose, our call is inspired by Heavenly Father and we are sent anywhere in the world where our personal talents and knowledge are needed by the people living there. Missionary service is not easy. It is hard, requires great sacrifice, and the devotion of all ones time and talents. But, it is one of the most rewarding and joyous experiences you will ever participate in. Not only do you have the opportunity to invite others to come unto Christ and partake of the blessings and knowledge that you have, but you will grow closer to your Savior, increase your faith and testimony, and be better prepared to provide for a family and make important decisions for your future. D&C 4:3 "Therefore, If ye have desires to serve God ye are called to the work." If you feel inspired to serve a mission, accept the call and serve with all your heart, might, mind, and strength. You will be significantly blessed for your hard work, time, and efforts. Show more Show less
