Hi I'm Christina

I'm an Idaho girl and I'm a Mormon

About Me

One of the things I love about living in Idaho is the variety of outdoor activities that are available in every season. I love to snow ski, camp, raft the river, ride horses, and work on our farm with my family and friends. The great thing though is there are many outdoor adventures in all parts of the world. I just finished a year at BYU-Idaho and and am about to serve a mission in Hawaii. Although I won't be able to swim or surf, I will be able to enjoy beautiful hikes! I also love music. I have grown up singing and playing the piano. My family was able to pick my brother up from his mission two years ago in Europe. While there, we had the opportunity to put on musical firesides encouraging strong families. While immersed in their culture, we also shared with them another culture that is a part of my family which is the deaf culture. I grew up learning sign language because I have a brother who is deaf. I love learning about different cultures and ways of life!

Why I am a Mormon

Being a Mormon is a good way to live! I feel this way because everything taught and lived directs each of us to Christ. It is a church that unifies so many people from different cultures and different walks of life, and it also helps the individual by teaching principles like personal faith, prayer, and revelation. It gives me a purpose to life and motivates me to set goals to become better and more like Christ. I have been blessed to have a family that has been Mormon for generations. It makes me want to continue the legacy of commitment to Jesus Christ and strengthen my own testimony of Him. I add my testimony for may who have gone before me that I know Christ lives and is my Savior. He loves us so much and knows each of us personally.

How I live my faith

One of the best ways I am able to live my faith is through service. The wonderful thing about service is it can be done at any age to any age. One of my favorite memories growing up was visiting the assisted living homes. I would go with my family and sing to them or with friends and read a book or just talk to them. I also have been able to serve many my own age as well by organizing activities or just chatting with someone who needs to be heard. The wonderful part about service is it helps the person or people being served, but it also gives me more peace and confidence and I feel happy! I know that this is the case because serving is what Christ did when He was on the earth and it helps us become more like Him when we do it. Another way I live my faith is by listening and following the prophet. A tradition my family has is to attend general conference once every year. Now I know this is not a possibility for many and it is quite unique, I am so grateful to be able to go because my testimony of the apostles and prophets deepens every time. I feel the spirit because I know the prophet is called from God to direct our church. It is neat to see thousands of people from around the world gather to listen to the prophet because they love and sustain him like I do.
