Hi I'm Ryan

I grew up in California around San Francisco. I like classic cars, classic rock, and woodworking. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated high school, and am currently serving a full time mission. I don't have many talents, but I loved carpentry and I also hope to study engineering in college once I return. I like old stuff a lot, classic cars (a 1961 Cadillac coupe Deville is my dream car) classic rock, and collected records before my mission. Because of my mission, I can now speak pretty decent Spanish.

Why I am a Mormon

My mother and her family were converts to the church when she was 9 years old. My father is catholic, but has always been fine with my mother raising my siblings and I in the Mormon church. I didn't grow up around a lot of other Mormons, and the church was always a choice for my siblings and me, but the more I learned about it, and studied it, the more it made sense. I have prayed before if there was a god when I was 11 years old, and received a power feeling from the spirit of his love and reality, and later in life I prayed to honestly ask if the book of Mormon was true, and also received a spiritual witness. Every day as I continue to learn and live Christ's gospel, I feel happier and closer to my Lord and Savior. I have had bad times in the past, who hasn't? But as I see my path and my potential in God's eyes for the man I can become, my desire to continue to follow Jesus Christ and change for the better only grows. I have seen miracles, both in myself and others, and I know without a doubt this church is true, and the reason I am out here teaching it is because I know others can know too, just as surely. There isn't any thing in the water, and we don't drink any coolaid, it is just the spirit of God.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a full time mission for the church. My official purpose is "Invite others to come unto Christ by helping them to receive the restored Gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and his Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end." But basically this means I share and teach Christ's teachings to all those that want to listen, and try to help them rely on God more and improve their lives through him. I spend basically every waking hour either studying the teachings of the Church (Bible, Book of Mormon, ect.) or teaching people about these things. May sound boring, but I have never been happier.
