Hi I'm Marsha Russell

I grew up in Mesa, Arizona. I have taught ballet and made tutus for ballet companies for the past 50 years. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love ballet. I have a masters degree in ballet and I've taught for 50 years, and now my daughters have danced, taught and share my love for ballet. I love to sew and design costumes for ballet. I've made costumes for seven full length ballets. But, my favorite thing is my family. I have six children and seventeen grandchildren. I love to spend time with them, play games with them, swim with them, and travel with them! Now, my husband and I are going to leave those precious children and grandchildren for 18 months and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the people of Puerto Rico.

Why I am a Mormon

My English teacher in High School once told me that Mormons are brainwashed. I didn't necessarily believe him, but I learned at the age of 30 that everyone, no matter whether they were born a Mormon, or converted later, must get their own testimony. That testimony is very personal and only comes through the Holy Ghost. Once you receive that testimony, it gives you peace, joy, love for others, and most importantly, it carries you through the trials that will inevitably come in your life.

How I live my faith

I love to serve others, whether it be teaching ballet, sewing costumes, serving the young girls, aged 12-18, or younger children aged 3-12. It brings me great joy. I also have loved serving the older women in our church.
