Hi I'm Robert Semu

I grew up in Auckland, New Zealand and PNW Washington State. I'm a full-time missionary in Richmond, Virginia. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Auckland, New Zealand but moved to northwest Washington State as a teenager. I'm great at trying way too hard to be cool, and at eating regrettable amounts of food. I love fitness and try to hit the gym to keep the bodily damage from my previously stated passion to a minimum. When I have free time I like playing sports, gaming, and hanging out with the friends and fam. Right now I'm serving as a full-time, Spanish-speaking missionary in the mean streets of the Virginia, Richmond Mission, taking the gospel to the East siiiide for these next two years. Afterwards, I'm still deciding between returning to school at USC in Los Angeles, or transferring to BYU-Provo. Either way, I look forward to living my life to the fullest and maximizing the blessings and potential that God has given me — whether that be playing more rugby, being a broke college student, or pursuing my childhood dream of becoming a trillionaire.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a member of this church because I know for a surety that the principles and teachings are true. Through study and prayer, and a faith in my Heavenly Father I've gained a testimony of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon as well the veracity of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints as the only church of God upon the Earth today that has the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I have seen how living the gospel has blessed every aspect of my life, my family, and has helped push me to be the best person I can be. Furthermore, it has provided me with a greater perspective on who I am, and helped me recognize those things in life that are the most important. I'm a missionary because I want to help bring those blessings and share that happiness with others, as well as express my gratitude for God for all that He's given me. "Behold, I am a disciple of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I have been called of him to declare his word among his people, that they might have everlasting life." (3 Nephi 5:13)

How I live my faith

I choose to live my faith in many ways such as attending church, serving as a missionary for 2 years, and trying to be a good example of my beliefs. However, I also try to live my faith by being true to myself and, despite what weaknesses or imperfections I may have, continually striving to improve and become more like our Savior Jesus Christ. I think one of the greatest blessings of the gospel is a sure knowledge of God's plan for me; not only who I am, but also what I can become.
