Hi I'm David Dakota Stephens

I run cross country, I listen to Alternative Rock, I'm going on my mission in September, I play video games and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I like to run Cross Country. I graduated in 2015 from High School. My hobbies include watching movies and playing virtual simulations with friends. I'm a second generation Mormon however, the majority of my family has become inactive in the church. I hope that they will return some time in their lives, to partake of the fullness of the gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

Being the only practicing member in my household is hard sometimes however quite rewarding. When I was baptized as a 8 year old I really didn't know about the atonement or what baptism meant but after many different struggles and trials and tribulations I finally realized what Christ really did for us and what ever we do, how badly we mess up, he will always love us and help us get forgiven so we could forgive ourselves and others.

How I live my faith

I try to live my life in a way that reflects Christ. I want to be kind, loving and charitable. I feel those are elements of Christ character that I would like to be. I want to be an example to my friends of who I am and what I believe. Sometimes that is not easy in teen society today. But it is easier if you make a decision about something, before you are placed in a situation. It is easy to say no to alcohol and drugs if you have already made that decision way before you are at a party and are faced with the question. Recently I was released as the second counselor in the 16-18 year old group of young men in my congregation, I will miss being with all the other young men in our church group. I was released from that position because I am preparing to serve a missionary for two years. I still attend our Tuesday night youth meetings, but I am transitioning from a teen to an adult. It is exciting and scary at the same time.

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

David Dakota Stephens
The men hold the power of the priesthood, which through it people are saved by the ordinances administered by those worthy Men. Women hold the power of creation, and only few being hold both, God And Christ. Without both powers, the church wouldn't work properly and God's plan would come to effect Show more Show less
