Hi I'm Monica

I grew up in California and I love playing sports. I am serving my mission in the Washington Spokane Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Ever since I was a little girl I have played a sport. I played soccer, volleyball, basketball, track and field, tennis, and powder puff (football). I played basketball, track and field, and tennis in high school. After I graduated I was a tennis coach during the summer, winter and fall seasons for the high school. Since I was a coach I was not able to play tennis for my college. I also love watching sports, specifically baseball. Besides sports I love the outdoors, movies, laughing, reading, listening to music, and being with my family. I am wanting to become a nurse when I am done with my general education.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon). I was born into the church with parents who joined when they were young. My dad's family joined when he was 8 and my mom joined when she was 18. I have been a member my whole life and I am proud to be a Mormon. A couple of years ago I was struggling with nothing in particular, but life throws curve balls and I didn't know how to dodge this one. So I decided to pray to my Father in Heaven asking Him if He truly loved me. After that prayer the warmest feeling came over me and I knew that my Heavenly Father loves me. He loves everyone equally because we are His children. He is our Father. He cares about us and how we are and He wants us to pray to Him because He wants to help us. I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God and that he translated the Book of Mormon which is Another Testament of Jesus Christ. It does not replace the Bible; instead the Bible and Book of Mormon go hand in hand. When people say why do we need more scripture, they should think why would we not want more scripture preaching about Jesus Christ and His church. I know this Gospel is true because I asked and my question was answered, and so will yours if you sincerely ask and have a desire to know for yourself.

How I live my faith

I visit ladies in my ward on a monthly bases to see if they need my assistance in their life. I have helped in the nursery and I have volunteered to help set up activities for the ladies 18+ in the ward.
