Hi I'm Cindy

I grew up in Southern California. I am a Registered Nurse that provides care to patients at home I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My four children are grown now and I have 8 grandchildren. I live in a beautiful town where there are trails and lakes and streams. I enjoy taking my dogs out on the path in the evening as there is a marsh along the trail with all kinds of birds and other wildlife. I still work full-time as a Home Health nurse on an Infusion Team. I enjoy meeting and caring for people who have health care needs in the home. The hours can be long and unpredictable but the rewards that I receive from this work is infinite.

Why I am a Mormon

I wasn't always a Mormon. I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the year 2000 in my 40's. My father passed away in May 1999 and I had many unanswered questions about life. I thought my life was just fine and if I wanted to go to Church, there were many down the road from me. But when I went, I felt like there must be more. After some missionaries started talking to my mother, I listened with real intent and noticed that many of the things they said answered some of my questions ( Why am I here? Where am I going? What is my purpose here if just to live and die?) I had never been baptized before and didn't know that it was a requirement to enter Heaven. As I studied and read The Book of Mormon, I felt that it was true that I had a purpose and that I was entitled to so much more in this life and my life beyond, that I had a Heavenly Father who knew me before I came to the Earth and that I will be able to return to him someday. I also realized that I am an imperfect person here with a mortal body and a spirit who is working towards perfection. I follow Christ to the best of my abilities and ask for his forgiveness when I fall short. I am a better person because of this church.

How I live my faith

I have a great calling as a ward missionary in my area. This means that I am a person that welcomes and supports new people who come to visit the church. I also help the young missionaries if they need me. For example, if you were to come to church and want to know more about what we believe and how to join the church, I would help you get in contact with the missionaries who will help you. I attend church on Sunday unless I have to work. Typically, nurses schedules can be tough and unpredictable, by I have made it a priority in my life to keep Sunday a special day.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Cindy
Not only do the missionaries share a message about Jesus Christ and His Atonement for all people, they teach about Heavenly Father's great plan of salvation, which allows all people the opportunity to return to him. They will listen to your questions about the church and guide you through the scriptures to find the answers you are seeking about life's issues. They invite you to Church and ask that you pray to find the answers you need to know whether the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church of God. I know that you will get the answer if you are truly looking for it. I know that the same thing happened to me and many others. It was divine intervention for me when I came to the understanding that the answers I was seeking was in a small book written by the prophets, old and new, and that it was written for me.
