Hi I'm Ethan

I love filmmaking, I'm a swimmer, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I recently finished my first year at college. I was on a swim team for several years and recently joined a collegiate Triathlon team. I enjoy the outdoors very much and always love to travel. Filmmaking in particular is my most favorite hobby. While I haven't made many films recently, I enjoy watching films and learning about how stories impact and inspire the human spirit. Overall, I am an avid learner, and I like to find as many opportunities to learn new things about the world I live in everyday. On top of everything that is important to me, though, my love for the Savior and His restored gospel is the most precious gift I have.

Why I am a Mormon

While I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I've made the conscious decision to remain and become an active member of the Church because of the comfort and knowledge it has brought to me in my life when I personally asked my Father in heaven if this Church was true. Outsiders often say that this Church has too many rules, too many limitations, but I believe God has given us commandments so that we are given more freedom in our lives than we would have without them. The freedom we are given by obeying the Lord's commandments is a freedom from temptation. While I am still subject to temptations--I know I'm not perfect--I know that by wholeheartedly striving to follow the commandments God has given to me, I can better understand why He has given them to us. Obedience to God's commandments has also strengthened my faith in the many other blessings He has given to us through the Priesthood, modern-day Prophets, eternal families, and many others. I know this Church is true, and I discovered it by reading the keystone of our religion--The Book of Mormon--and personally asking God if what the book says is true. I testify that I received an answer, and here I am.

How I live my faith

I enjoy serving in my Church, because I know that when I am serving others, I am serving God's children. For the past year I was called to lead the entire body of Elders in my Ward. With the help of great assistants, we organized home teaching in our Ward by assigning two Elders to each family and having them visit their assigned families at least once a month. It was a wonderful experience getting to witness the amazing blessings that come from reaching out and helping those around me. These experiences have really helped me know that miracles do happen and that they take place all around us.
