Hi I'm Cathy

I was born and raised in Alabama. I'm a wife, mother, grandmother, and retired registered nurse. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I worked in the newborn and intensive care nurseries as a maternal child nurse for 23 years. I'm married to the love of my life. I have 6 children and 14 grandchildren. I love swimming, fishing, and camping. I love baking, smocking, sewing, and crafting, my newest hobbie is quilting. I have been extremely overweight for many years but about a year ago I began making wise food choices. I also began a personal exercise program. Currently I walk, or bicycle 5-6 days per week and I have lost 75 pounds.

Why I am a Mormon

My great, grandmother and her parents and about 30 other family members were among the first to be baptized into the Church in our area back in 1911. I am grateful for the guidance and direction that the Gospel gives to my life. The standards of the Church help me to stay on the path that will lead me back to my Heavenly Father. Jesus Christ is my Savior and he is my Redeemer. He suffered, bled and died for the sins of the world. After 3 days he was resurrected, and He lives today! I know he leads and guides this Church. I know my Heavenly Father knows me and He loves me.

How I live my faith

I love giving service to others, whether it is baby sitting, cooking meals for the sick, taking people to appointments, helping people move, or just visiting with others. I also love working with the youth of the Church. Currently, I am over the 14 and 15 year old girls in our church. They are a great group of girls and I enjoy helping them plan and carry out activities and service projects.
