Hi I'm Garron

I grew up in Missouri, and I have been a member my whole life. I have been called to serve in the Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine Mission.

About Me

I was born in Arizona, but I moved to Missouri when I was ten. I love sports and the outdoors. Cross country and track are my favorite sports with soccer being a close second. Reading is a great passion of mine. I enjoy anything that is well written.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon my entire life. I have never known what it is like to go to a different church or what life is like without the Gospel. Even though I was born in the Church I still had to gain a testimony of it. I still remember the feeling I had when I finished the Book of Mormon for the first time; it was a calm and sure feeling that what I had read was true. I have spent many hours sitting and thinking about why this Church is true and I am sometimes overwhelmed by the knowledge that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is truly Christ's church. The Atonement happened. Christ suffered the sins of everyone that has lived, is living, and ever will live. I know that he understands my struggles and those of everyone around me. I have difficulty accepting that if I ask for forgiveness that I can receive it though. I have to remember that the gift of the Atonement has already been paid for and that if I don't repent I am hurting Christ more than when I commit my sins.

How I live my faith

I visit the oldest couple in my congregation with my father almost every other week. I love hearing their stories, and am amazed at the things they know. Most of my friends know that I am a member of the Church and they often have questions about my beliefs. I try to be open about the Gospel and my beliefs. My friends always respect my values.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Garron
I believe that we are saved by grace because we aren't perfect. Christ said to become perfect as He is. That is impossible. No one is perfect. Everyone makes mistakes in one way or another. It is through Christ's Atonement that we are able to repent and receive forgiveness. We strive to become as Christ-like as we can and the only way to become like Him is through His sacrifice; through His grace. Show more Show less
