Hi I'm Aubrey Smith

I have been called to serve in the Ukraine Dnepropetrovsk mission. I can't wait to serve the Lord. I am a mormon.

About Me

I went to a year of college and in the middle of my winter semester, I received my call to serve in the Ukraine Dnepropetrovsk mission, leaving July 15, and speaking Russian. I honestly cannot wait and am beyond excited. For fun, I love to read, especially romance novels, and watch movies. I also recently found a love of hiking and you will rarely find me not listening to music. Music is my life and I listen to music to almost everything that I do. I even love to listen to music while I read. I love old time music like Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Dean Martin, and many more. I also love music now a days like Walk the Moon, Fall out Boy, Skrillex, and many others. I spend most of my time with my family. We love hiking, cooking, watching movies, and listening to music together. I have an older brother that doesn't live at home and my parents our divorced, so at home it is me, my mom, and my two younger sisters. You could say that there is lots of drama at home but I wouldn't trade my family for the world. Oh, and I love being LDS!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because the spirit has testified to me that Jesus is real and that the Book of Mormon is true. I love this gospel because I love our values and know that they keep us safe in this dangerous, tempting world. I have seen what not living the gospel has done to people and the trials that they have to go through because of it. Not that mormons don't have trials, because we do, but it is so much easier to go through those trials with Jesus and Heavenly Father on your side. I have a love for my Heavenly Father that is so strong that I want to make him proud and do what he has asked. I don't have all the answers, as none of us do but its okay. I believe that though we don't know everything, that's okay. I have enough faith in Heavenly Father that he knows what is best and so how can I challenge him on every decision he has made just because I don't understand. The mysterious of God will be revealed eventually. Also, the church is perfect, but that doesn't mean the people in the church are. I have had so many people be rude and offend me from my ward or in church. Does that mean I don't keep going? No. I go for Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father because I love them and want to continue to grow and do what they ask. Nobody is perfect and so we need to all strive to lift each other up and love each other no matter who it is. Member or non-member. I am so grateful for the gospel. I cannot imagine my life without it and cannot wait to teach others about it so that they can hear about the wonderful joy that comes from the gospel. I love being a mormon!

How I live my faith

After turning 18, I was put into a calling as a primary teacher, teaching 4 year olds and then teaching 8 year olds. I absolutely loved teaching because kids are so young and full of questions. They love learning about the gospel and have such kind, pure hearts. A few months ago, I was released and have now been just preparing for my mission. I live my faith by always striving to live the commandments and to think of others and how I can help them.
