Hi I'm Owen

I'm a middle child. I love music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love music! I've been involved in bands and choirs for the past six years. I play the oboe, clarinet, and piano. Music provides a way for people to express emotions otherwise impossible to understand through words. I love music produced by the Church from pageants and plays to youth music. After my mission in Russia, I'll be attending Brigham Young University. I want to study Chemistry and Political Science. I love learning. Education has always been a huge part of my family. I love the emphasis that the Church places on education.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints by two wonderful, faithful parents. My dad comes from a long line of members of the Church. My mom, on the other hand, is a convert to the Church. I contribute a lot of the reason why I'm a Mormon to the missionary who baptized my mom. We're still in contact with him. I appreciate the example my parents have set for me in being diligent and Christ-centered people. My testimony has grown through various life events. The most important things I have learned have come from the 13 Articles of Faith, written by the prophet Joseph Smith. These articles teach the basic and most fundamental principles of the Church. As I study these articles, I grow in love and admiration for the principles taught in the Church. I know that teaching these principles is necessary to my salvation and to the salvation of others. As I try to become more like Christ and emulate His life, I will draw closer to Him, and to my Father in Heaven. I love the LDS Church, and I know that the doctrines taught are true.

How I live my faith

Currently I'm serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I've been assigned to serve in the Russia Vladivostok mission. I'm so excited to teach these wonderful people and make available to them the glorious blessings which come from accepting the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I try to follow the example of Christ in serving at school, at work, and within my own family. I am learning to become "a witness of God at all times, and in all things, and in all places" (Mosiah 18:9). As I serve as a full-time missionary in Russia, I want to develop the Christlike attributes of faith in Jesus Christ, hope, love and charity, virtue, knowledge, patience, humility, diligence, and obedience. Each of these attributes make us more like our Heavenly Father, and strengthen our relationship with him.
