Hi I'm Jonathan

I was born and raised in Arizona. I am an amateur animator and author. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I spent most of my youth living in the middle of nowhere with nothing and no one but my family nearby. I am an introverted soul, generally happier to spend my time absorbed in my own imagination than around other people. Being an introvert does pose some challenges, such as working up energy to attend social events even when I want to, but it does give me certain strengths that extroverts generally don't have, such as an increased awareness of social subtleties. So, I'm perfectly happy to be an introvert. In my spare time, I enjoy writing and animation. Though unpublished, I have written a number of books. I hope to be able to polish up my work and get something published soon. As far as animation goes, I'm relatively new on the scene. But I really enjoy 3D animation. All of my animation has been done with a program called Blender. I've been considering going to college for animation, and the program at BYU looks very promising.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church, to loving parents who worked hard to teach me about the gospel. They have always shared their testimonies with me and explained doctrine in a way that I can understand. They helped me to understand that the gospel is the only source of eternal truth and joy. I have discovered by personal experience that living in accordance with laws and statutes of God has a direct correlation with the quality and happiness of my life. Of course there are challenges, and sometimes God asks difficult things of me. But as I live the gospel, I always feel happier. And God always allows me to feel his approval through the spirit when I do good things.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in a simple way. I go to church on Sundays, I pray and read my scriptures every day. I help people out when I can. I've done everything from cutting wood and sorting rocks to painting houses and fixing dog kennels. One of the most important things that I try to do is remember. When I learn important things, I try to remember. I try to remember Jesus throughout each and every day, what he has done for me and what he would do in the situations that I find myself in. And I try to remember that the small things I say and do don't just affect me; they affect everyone around me.

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

The Word of Wisdom is a guideline and commandment in regards to how we treat our bodies. It is our belief that the body is a sacred gift from God. The body is the temple that houses the spirit. If we do not take active effort in the maintenance of our bodies, then we are blatantly disregarding the very vessel that makes mortal experience possible. We observe the Word of Wisdom to protect ourselves from unhealthy and addictive behavior. Show more Show less
