Hi I'm Steve

I'm a husband and father, a high school teacher, a sports nut, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up a member of the LDS Church, but both of my parents are converts to the Church. Being a Mormon is the greatest blessing in my life, and the teachings of Jesus Christ have guided and blessed me continually throughout my life. I have a wonderful wife and we are raising our awesome son, who has autism. I served an LDS mission to Brazil and loved it immensely. I now teach high school History and Government classes, and try to influence youth in a positive way. The Lord loves everyone, and I feel His love through the people and experiences He's given me in life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that Jesus Christ is the Savior and that He loves me. My Heavenly Father has a plan for me and for you here on earth, and He knows we can be happy by following His plan. In order to obtain His greatest blessings, Heavenly Father has provided us with living prophets who speak with Him and tell us His will. I know that Joseph Smith was the prophet called to restore the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the earth, and that Thomas S. Monson is God's prophet today and is carrying His work forward. I also know that the fullness of the Gospel is only found in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and can help us come to Christ. We can know for ourselves that the Book of Mormon is true by reading it and praying about it, asking God for confirmation of the truth. And He has promised that we will receive answers to our prayers through the Holy Spirit touching our mind and heart. Being a member of the LDS Church has brought me great joy and peace in life, and while life certainly isn't easy, the greatest blessings I have are because of my membership in the Church. Being a Mormon is just a great way to live!

How I live my faith

I serve in the Church by teaching and interacting with the youth, principally the young men ages 16 to 18. I am able to teach them lessons about the Gospel on Sunday during our church meetings, and we also meet one evening per week to have fun activities as a group. The activities during the week are a great time for the young men to build stronger friendships and camaraderie with one another. Even though I also work with youth everyday at my job (teaching high school), I have learned a lot from the young men of the Church.

What do Mormons believe about “eternal life?”

Steve
I love the idea of returning someday to live with Heavenly Father and Jesus again! Who wouldn't like that idea?! I also love the idea of living with my family forever. To be with my wife and son forever in a state of peace and love - what could be better than that?! I find the doctrine of eternal life to be so comforting. I also find it to make sense that a loving God has provided a way for us to return to Him - what an awesome thing! Show more Show less
