Hi I'm Nina Gonzales

I run track and field at Sam Houston State University. I'm awaiting to report to Puebla, Mexico for my mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I belong to a family of 5, one sister in law, and now one beautiful niece named Sunday Elizabeth. Through out my life until the 8th grade, my father was in the military which allowed for the opportunity to travel and live all across the United States. Some places included, Hawaii, California, Virginia, and now we live here in Texas, which has been by far my favorite place. I just finished my first year up at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas and it was there where I had the chance to compete at the collegiate level in Cross Country and Track. But it isn't just running that I love to do, instead I love to play all kinds of sports with my friends. I have a love for playing ultimate frisbee, basketball, soccer, racket ball, and even golf. Having fun and meeting new people while doing that is my absolute favorite and I am waiting to put my outgoing personality into action on my mission in Mexico in July.

Why I am a Mormon

I love this church, and I know it is true. It is what gives me a foundation of life and I know this is the path my Heavenly Father wants be to be on. He has a plan for all of us and this church gives me the joy I know is pure. And with this pure joy I know people around me can see and want to have a part of it. Jesus Christ is our savior and is the light of the world. Darkness can be overtaken by light, but light can not be overtaken by darkness. Our God gave his only begotten son to die for us and it is because of this that I choose to follow him and love him with all my might, mind, and strength. There is no challenge in our life that is too hard for us, and I know that we can pray to our Heavenly father always and ask for his comfort in times of need. They know how each pain feels and know how to help. There is no doubt in my mind that this church is true. I wouldn't be the person I am today without it. Because of this gospel I feel love for everyone and I feel almost always to want to serve them! God wants nothing more from us than to serve the people in our lives and he will give blessings when we do so. I know that we have living prophets today that hear the word of God directly and give us truth. I saw these things, in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

How I live my faith

I have been an active member through out my life and with this I have had the chance participate in many service projects through out the years. I love the fact that this church allows so many service opportunities for not only our communities but for also our members! I know that the ward members are allows there for me and care for those that need help. For me personally, I have had the chance to teach the women in the wards and even the children. I know that because I have callings that have me teach the members in ward, that I need to live the teachings of the church to the best of my ability and to read the scriptures daily so I can have a clear understanding.
