Hi I'm Emery J. Bassett

I live in South Carolina, I am a tech geek, and I am a Mormon

About Me

I love doing origami and playing with Legos. Recently I made an origami horse that turned out very well and I have an origami dragon that always works great. My Lego creations are varied including an airplane and several spaceships. I am now serving a mission in Las Vegas Nevada and hope to be able to become an Electrical or Computer Engineer when I get back.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church but I still had to grow my own faith. Unlike Paul I did not have a single moment of clarity. In a very real sense it grew like a plant, very little change over a day or even a week but looking back I can see how far it's come. I still don't understand every little thing about the Gosple but I know enough to hold on.

How I live my faith

Previously, I taught a Sunday School class comprised of the 12-13 year olds. I also went home teaching each month with my companion and we visited each of our assigned families. Before my mission I spent a lot of time working with the missionaries in our ward. Now I serve a full time mission in Las Vegas Nevada!

Why is it important for us to take care of our bodies? Why are our bodies called temples of God in the Bible?

Emery J. Bassett
God gave us bodies for our spirits. If we misuse them it is a little bit like giving a bike to a friend and they purposefully crash it. God has given us certain commandments to help us care for our bodies, like telling your friend about how to care for the bike. If we follow these commandments then our bodies will be stay healthy, pending a bike crash. Show more Show less
