Hi I'm Richard

I'm from Nashville, TN. I am a missionary in the Taiwan Taichung Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 19 year old from Tennessee and a student a Brigham Young University. I'm not sure about what I want to study and later do for a career- I am deciding between finance and medicine, two obviously different professions. I love camping, fishing, hunting, and just being in the outdoors. I play soccer, but I love basically every sport. I also love playing guitar, which is a hobby I have had for most of my life. I enjoy hanging out with friends, and I love my family and spending time with them. After my freshman year, I made the decision to serve a full time mission and was called to the Taiwan Taichung Mission. As a missionary, I am called to declare the Lord's Gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

To be honest, I never made a conscious decision to join this church. I grew up in a Mormon family and have attended weekly church meetings throughout my entire life; however, like every other faithful member of the LDS church, I have come to know on my own that this gospel is true. Through hard work, prayer, fasting, service, repentance, and study I have gained a love for my savior and his Gospel. I have seen the difference that the gospel makes in the life of those who follow it, and I know that following the commandments of God is always worth whatever sacrifices we have to make. I love being a member of the Mormon church and the affect that it has had on my life - there is no aspect of my life that has not been positively affected. I love Jesus Christ and am grateful for the opportunity to share the gospel with the people of Taiwan. I am so excited to give them this gospel that has blessed my life so much.

How I live my faith

I have always been an active member of the LDS church. I grew up attending youth programs and often served as a leader in these groups. I enjoyed planning activities and looking out for my fellow teenage members. It was awesome growing up in such a fulfilling environment. I continued with this attitude into college, and loved the unity that attending church brought to a diverse group of college students. Now as a full time missionary, I have devoted my entire life to serving the Lord for two years. I am learning to speak Mandarin Chinese in order to share the message of the gospel with the people of Taiwan. As a missionary, I invite others to come unto Christ through teaching and service. I love the people of Taiwan, and want them to have the same happiness that the church has provided in my own life. I know that the fastest way to happiness is through love and service to others and through following the Gospel that Jesus Christ so lovingly gave to us.
