Hi I'm Louise

I am a convert. I putting my career in nursing on hold, to serve a mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I work as an emergency nurse, and absolutely love my job. I got baptised October 2014, and received my mission call November 2015. I love hanging out with my friends, and my family. My granny is my biggest inspiration, I want to be as fabulous as her!

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptised a member October 8th, 2014, and it was an amazing day. I had looked forward to it for a while, and despite the challenges, as I sat in the church surrounded by people who loved me, I knew my Heavenly Father was pleased. I have had many blessings from the day I first agreed to attend a sacrament meeting, and any challenges I have faced, when I surrender myself to His grace, I am blessed. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I asked of my Heavenly Father, and he provided me the comfort to know my decision was right.

How I live my faith

As a convert to the Church there where many new things, that now come natural. Living my faith is both a personal and public thing. i attend activities most weeks with other young adults. I enjoy helping other people, through both teaching and service. My favourite experience ever, and what really committed me to serving a mission, was being a counsellor at a youth summer camp. It was AMAZING, and I hope to get to serve again after my mission. Going to the Temple is a massive part of living my faith, being there just brings me such peace and comfort. Getting to do family history is important to me as the only member in my family, and makes me more determined to get all the blessings of a 'forever family'. I wish everybody could experience a second of the peace and joy that place brings!

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

Louise
Sometimes when we don't understand something we can fear it. Instead of asking 'us' what we believe, some might make assumptions or accusations. The word 'cult' makes me think of something complex, one person getting all the power, lack of liberty and being cut off from the 'outside world'. Mormons are people that enjoy doing the same things as everybody else, they just choose to follow God's counsel. We don't drink tea or coffee, but I still go for a chat with friends in a coffee shop. I dress modestly, but it doesn't stop me from loving to shop. We aren't strange, we are really friendly. I love when people ask me questions, sometimes I can;t give you an answer, but I will try my best to find it for you. Show more Show less
