Hi I'm Alyssa

I grew up in California and now live in Utah. I like to go hiking and exercise. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to go hiking and love to be surrounded by the beauty of the outdoors. I enjoy music and the ability it has to uplift and bring peace. I delight in singing, dancing and creating music. Some of my hobbies include reading, writing, crafts and landscape photography.

Why I am a Mormon

I am not perfect and I am nowhere near perfect. I make mistakes and I've had trials in my life that have been difficult for me to face, but because of His gospel I have overcome these trials and been blessed and strengthened in ways that have made me a better person in all aspects of my life. His gospel has given me a sure foundation and has been the constant reassurance in my life that I'm doing ok. Life is hard but through His gospel I have found peace, comfort and happiness. He loves me and to know that someone loves me so much that he willingly suffered and died for me so that I can be forgiven of my sins, find peace in times of sorrow and despair, receive comfort through times of hardship and find happiness throughout the journey.

How I live my faith

In my ward, I often remember doing service projects as activities with my youth groups. We would do several different acts of service from cleaning up parks to serving the elderly to helping out at local food banks. I always enjoyed these service opportunities because they helped me to grow and be more selfless. Serving others has constantly been something I find joy in doing. These activities as a youth taught me that often participating in an act of service can only take a few minutes out of the many minutes in your day. A smile, hug or simple note to a friend, or someone in your life that you notice just needs a helping hand, can go a long way.
