Hi I'm Savannah

I am a Floridian who loves the sunshine, an aspiring artist, and a college student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

With a great love and conviction of learning, I am a currently a college student attending Brigham Young University. I love to learn about anything and everything - astronomy, plant sciences, humanities, the arts, you name it! Along with the love of exploring and learning these things, I also love to learn about the gospel and the lessons of the scriptures. I was a competitive rower in high school so I love athletics, have determination, and have developed a love for the sport that will never fade! Hiking, fishing, going to the beach or river, or anything outside in nature I love. I love to draw, paint, and do anything that allows me to create. Because I live so close to the "most magical place on earth," going to Disney World with my family is among one of my favorite things to do! My family are my best friends, and I love them more than anything!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the LDS church, and have grown up active in it with my family. Even though I was born into a family who are members of the church, I have chosen for myself to remain active in the church. I am a Mormon because I have felt the love and joy of Jesus Christ in this gospel. I can feel Christ's support, love, and comfort when I follow His commandments, example, and seek Him. His gospel uplifts me, and strengthens me through both the hard and good times. I have a testimony that the true fullness of Christ's gospel has been restored in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I believe in the Book of Mormon to be the word of God, and another testament of Jesus Christ and his eternal goodness. I know that there are prophets and apostles living today who have been called by God; for God is the "same yesterday, today, and forever." I believe in their words and counsel. I believe and know that Christ lives, and He knows us each individually - our desires, fears, questions, joys. He desires to see us succeed and be happy. He has blessed us with His gospel, and with this church, to help us on our journeys back to Him.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by incorporating it into the basis of my life. As I intertwine my faith with daily living, it becomes an essential part of who I am and how I live my life. I have served as a teacher in Sunday school while in my ward at Brigham Young University. I enjoyed studying and preparing the lessons during the days prior to Sunday. It helped me learn so much! And I was then able to help my peers understand new things, and hopefully help strengthen them for the week ahead. Studying the scriptures, and words of modern prophets strengthen me in daily living by keeping an eternal perspective, and having a love for those around me and for my Savior, Jesus Christ. As I keep Christ at the center of my faith, the other aspects of living my faith fall easily into place because I love Him. Attending church on Sundays strengthens me for the week ahead and rejuvenates me; being with fellow members, and my family, and fellow shipping them makes me so happy and inspires me. I attend Ward activities, service opportunities and other events to keep my faith as an important and prominent piece of my life. Because of all these things, and my love for my faith, I have chosen to serve a full time mission and have been called to serve in the Mexico City East Mission. I couldn't be more excited to share the gospel to those living in Mexico City!
