Hi I'm Eric

I was born and raised in California. I love the outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love being physically active! My favorite things to do are hiking and camping, but I am also a swimmer and a runner and enjoy mountain biking. I am a college student studying landscape architecture and environmental planning, which I became interested in through my love of gardening and plants. I play the violin and love to read. I recently received a call to serve in the Puerto Rico San Juan Mission and am so excited for the adventures that await me there!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon for so many reasons. I believe that my Heavenly Father loves each one of us, and that he knows and understands each of our strengths and struggles. I believe that Christ overcame death, and that we, too, can be resurrected and live with God because of Christ's atonement. I know that we are meant to progress while on this earth, and the teachings of this Gospel help us do that more than any other resource given to man. I believe in the power of prayer, and that it helps us communicate very personally and strengthen our relationships with God. I know that the Spirit manifests truth to every individual, so that we can know for ourselves the truth of all things, spiritual, temporal, or otherwise. Most of all, I know that we need not despair: there is infinite hope in knowing that we are not defined by our pasts and that Heavenly Father sees each of us for what we can become.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be as involved as possible with my church. I love getting people from the church together for fun activities like indoor soccer, capture the flag, and movie nights. I also help organize weekly church classes at the LDS Institute of Religion, which provides young single adults further education about gospel principles and the teachings of the Savior, among other things. I set a lot of goals to help myself progress spiritually, and find ways to achieve those goals (although this is almost always a really long process!). I try hard to be encouraging to others, stay positive, and be accepting of people that have views that differ from my own. I love meeting new people and making new friends (who doesn't?), and try to get to know people that I'm unfamiliar with. I have wonderful friends and family who set great examples for me, and I try really hard to follow their examples to become more like Christ.
