Hi I'm Nicky Marie

I'm a Mormon and I'm proud of my faith!

About Me

I am 38 and I live in Scarborough, UK. I started investigating the LDS faith last April 2014, I did lots of research online. It wasn't until August 2014 though that I approached the missionaries in my town, that's when my home teaching began. My now husband moved in with me not long after and he started investigating too. We were going through a testing time in life at that time and we were praying more than we had ever prayed before, but things started getting worse. Our faith was tested and we started distancing ourselves from the church because we couldn't understand why God was not only not answering our prayers, but things were getting worse and worse. Soon though, we realised that all the things that had got worse had happened for a reason. We started attending our ward every Sunday but the bishop wouldn't baptise us until we were married so we couldn't call ourselves members. On the 2nd May 2015 we were finally married at the Scarborough Ward, the day was filled with so much love from family and members. Finally on the 9th May we were baptised. My husband Stuart got baptised first then myself, the missionaries who had been teaching us and who we had grown close too were the ones who baptised us. We are now members and our lives just keep changing for the better. The day we was confirmed, my 4 year old disabled son was blessed in the Sunday sacrament meeting. It was a wonderful day, one that I will never forget. I love my church and all the members, they're like family

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know the church is true, God has a plan for us all. We are his children and us being here is for a reason, this is our atonement and we are all made to be God like if we follow in God's footsteps. Mormons believe so much in family values. I am proud to be a Mormon. I will always have faith and I will never leave the church.

How I live my faith

I read my scriptures daily, I won't leave the house in the morning until I have prayed to my Heavenly Father. I cannot wait until I get a calling and get more involved in my church. Today I started inputting data into the family search site, so I already feel like I am doing my part. I will keep on following God's commandments and hopefully grow stronger day by day.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Nicky Marie
We can talk to him through praying, it doesn't matter how many times a day you prayer, the Lord is always listening. Read scriptures on a daily basis and always try to follow God's commandments. If you sin then prayer and make a covenant to God that you will try your best not to make the same mistake. God will always forgive you. He is our Father, he will never get tired of us talking to him, he will never ignore you or turn his back on you. He loves each and everyone of us, we are his children. Spread the gospel whenever you can and always have faith because God will never let us down. Pray to Heavenly Father (James 1:5). Show more Show less
