Hi I'm Danny

I grew up in Washington D.C., I'm a basketball fanatic, and I'm a mormon.

About Me

I grew up playing a bunch of sports, loved to travel and make new friends. I played basketball my first year in colege but am now going to be serving a mission soon.

Why I am a Mormon

My path to the LDS church did not come at an easy price. During most of high school i had fallen off the strait and narrow and decided to not participate in any church activities, even though i had been raised with great parents who showed me nothing but love and taught me correct principles of following the Savior. It wasn't untill the end of my high school life where i really started to take a closer look at who i was and who i had around me. I decided i needed to make a change. The first time i truly opened up to God was around the time of graduation. I knelt down and asked with real intent to know if He was even there and if he was, what should i do? I felt that he was there and was paying attention but i didnt truly know what i was to do. It wasnt untill the next day i picked up one of the several Books of Mormon in my room that clarity began to sink in. The first line in 1 Nephi immediately snagged my interest, "I, Nephi, Having been born of goodly parents.." I was hooked. I read that first chapter and slowly dissected every word in it. I immediately felt the spirit whisper to me that God loved me and that I needed to follow the church again. Although it wasnt all smooth sailing from then on out i learned that the more I trusted in God and gave him my effort, the more he revealed his hand in all areas of my life. True conversion takes time and we should allow ourselves to grow without beating ourselves up whenever we make mistakes, guilt has that covered on its own. I know that the more i look up to my Father in Heaven for guidance, the greater my capacity to feel his love becomes and i know thats not unique to me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by first and foremost striving to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. Daily personal reflection of who i am and why I'm here allows me to take on each day prepared to serve others and follow of the promptings of the spirit. I am no where near perfect and often make mistakes, but through Christ's Atonement i can wake up and try again with a smile. I am serving as a full-time missionary in the Idaho Pocatello Mission!
