Hi I'm Karina Jean Baxter

I was born on the 7th floor of a Chinese hospital in the port city of Kaohsiung, Taiwan. I'm a Morman.

About Me

I was born on the 7th floor of a Chinese hospital in the port city of Kaohsiung, Taiwan. My parents had served missions there and at the time I was born, they were teaching English. We moved back to the states and lived in Oregon, while my Dad went to law school. Much of my childhood was spent in the forests and on the coast of Oregon. While we have lived in Utah the past 11 years, I am still tempted to call Oregon home. I currently live in Paradise Utah, at the south end of Cache Valley, with my parents and a younger brother, Bryson, 14 and a younger sister Alana, 11. I also have an older brother Hayden, who after serving a mission in Taiwan, is now back over there teaching English and an older sister,Jade who is married to Luke Parkinson. I love to rock climb, snow ski, wakeboard, hike and camp. I love being outdoors and probably fortunate for me, I love snow and cold weather. I also love photography and always looking for “good” light. I attended Mountain Crest High School and enjoyed being on the cheer team. I have also had a pretty steady job since I was 14,milking cows. I continued working until I moved away to Dixie State, because I thought so much of my boss, who was also our Bishop at the time. I really enjoyed going to Dixie State last year.I learned so many things and had a wonderful ward and roommates. I feel my experiences and studies there have helped prepare me for the next big step in my life as a missionary.

Why I am a Mormon

I choose to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ because I know that it is the only thing that will bring me my Salvation or in other words happiness. The atonement is one of the key things in my life knowing I can be renewed after I make a mistake or that I have someone that understands everything that I am going through. I know that this is restored gospel of Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father has not left us to get through this life on our own but has sent us, scriptures, prophets, leaders, and friends, to help us reach our full potential in this lifetime.

How I live my faith

I strive to live my faith everyday by looking towards my Saviors example that he has set and trying to act in a way he would be proud. I am planning to also live my faith by serving a year in a half mission and I got called to the Czech/Slovak mission to teach others further knowledge of Jesus Christ and his gospel.
