Hi I'm Chayden Johnston

I am a missionary. I play football at the University of Utah. I love the ocean, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born with a heart defect called Tetralogy of Fallot. I was always told I couldn't be active and wouldn't live a normal life like the other boys and girls. As I became older and stronger I began to grow a love for soccer. My doctor said I was healthy enough to run around with the other kids. Continuing to grow older a lot of my friends wanted to play football. I also wanted to play but the cardiologist always insisted that no way was I ever going to play football. Finally we agreed that I could just be the kicker. Long story short; after I return from my mission I will be attending the University of Utah and continuing my football career.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this gospel. As a young boy through my youth my parents taught me that we go to church on sunday, we get baptized, we serve a mission, and then we get married in the temple. I am so grateful for the teachings that they have taught me. But, it wasn't until recently that I have received my own beautiful testimony. A testimony that is so strong that no matter what anyone could say or do my faith could not be shaken. I know for a fact that this is Gods church, we teach the same doctrine that Jesus Christ teaches in the words of the Book of Mormon and also in the Bible. I am too convinced and have such a strong testimony that I would be a fool to not share it with others, I am a Mormon because I know that this is the one and only perfectly correct church. I know where I came from, what I need to be doing on this earth and where I am going. I am a Mormon through and through.

How I live my faith

The way I live my faith is by deciding to serve a mission. As a boy I always knew that it was the right thing to do. As it became closer and closer for me to really decide to serve a mission I was grateful that I had decided to go in my youth so that the decision was that much easier. I have been assigned to labor in the Minneapolis, Minnesota mission and cannot wait to put behind the worldly distractions and fall in love with the people of Minnesota. As I continue to prepare to teach the teachings of Jesus Christ I know that our Father in Heaven is preparing the people of Minnesota for me.
