Hi I'm Jefferson Norton

I grew up in small-town Arizona. I love playing sports and the piano. My brothers are my best friends. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am 21 years old. I grew up in small-town Arizona. I have grown up a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. In high school I played both basketball and tennis. I also have played the piano since I was 7 years old. My senior year of high school I joined my high school show choir. I love music and its power and ability to bring the Spirit into our lives. I love my family. I have four brothers, and two sisters (I'm the middle child); within the last few years my siblings have become my best friends! I don't know what I would ever do without them. After high school I have worked at a restaurant to save money to serve a mission for my church. I worked there just over a year and a half and saved all I could. I am currently serving as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Oklahoma Oklahoma City mission. Afterwards I plan on going to college and continue working in the restaurant business. I plan to get married and start a family because of the joy and happiness that has come from growing up in a wonderful family. I want to be able to make a difference in the world and also in people's lives. I love my savior Jesus Christ. I love my Father in heaven. I know they love me and feel of their love every day. I know that this church is true. I am a Mormon. I know it, I live it, I love it! Hurrah for Israel. Serve like a champion today!

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are both members of His church. I grew up being surrounded by His gospel and teachings. It has been a way of life for me. As I have grown personally in the gospel through Christ's teachings, my testimony has been strengthened. Within the 8 months, I have grown closer to my Savior than I have my entire life. I feel of his love everyday. I have come to understand his sacrifice a little more and in doing so it has helped me understand how I can take His atonement and better myself with it. I recently had an experience where I was challenged to pray and ask my Father in Heaven if he loved me. I felt that the challenge was a little ridiculous. I knew he loved me. I had seen how much he had blessed me my entire life and could see His hand in many different aspects of my life. As I thought more about the invitation, I realized that all of this time I knew he loved me but I had never asked him. That night I knelt down to pray and I asked God, my Heavenly Father, if he actually loved me. I wanted to know from him! As I prayed, and asked him if he loved me, I had a wonderful experience. I felt like I was being filled. Filled with his love. As I prayed I could literally feel my chest filling up in a way that I cannot describe but I knew that it was God showing me and telling me that he loved me. That is why I am a member of this church. I have felt of his love. I have received answers from The Book of Mormon as I read and study the scriptures. He knows me. He loves me. I know it. I feel it. For this reason I will always be a member of His church: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

How I live my faith

I have always been an active member of the church. I am currently serving as a missionary in the Oklahoma Oklahoma City mission. I live everyday serving the people of Oklahoma and teach, invite, and help others come closer to Jesus Christ. I love helping others and seeing the joy and change in their lives as they come to know their Savior on a more personal level. Before serving a mission, I taught Sunday school to the 9 year old children in our church. I taught 8 nine year old boys. I admit they were a handful but loved to see their smiling faces and help them grow their testimony in the principles of the gospel. As I live everyday, I try to live in a way where people can see and feel of Christ's love through my actions. I have experienced joy from knowing of His love and I want to help other's feel of that love as I serve and teach them about Jesus Christ's teachings and how by applying those teachings can bring them closer to Jesus Christ.
