Hi I'm Alex Moyes

Im a Kicker, a Missionary, and a Mormon.

About Me

Growing up Ive always enjoyed being active. I love the outdoors, especially Hunting and Fishing. When I wasnt fishing, I was at the High School kicking footballs. I was what Adam Sandler put perfectly, "The Lonesome Kicker" Haha. I liked to spend time alone kicking footballs, meditating on life and all of my blessings. I am currently serving a full-time mission in the Idaho Pocatello Mission, The Land of many, many Potatoes!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because Mormonism is the only religion that believes in Eternal Families, that family relationships can exist past the grave. Years Ago, Truman G. Madsen, a professor of religion and philosophy from Brigham Young University, related an experience that he had with a certain religious leader of another faith. They were all attending an "InterFaith" Convention that had in Attendance many representatives of worldwide religions. Before this convention began, This minister stood up at the podium and stated, "Before we commence this exciting discussion, let me go over 3 rules- "First. If you want to know what someone believes, ask him, not his ill-willed interpreters. State his position as he would state it. "Second. Don’t compare your bests with others’ worsts. Compare fairly. "Third. Leave room for holy envy. Be able to say, 'You know, there is something in this other religious tradition that I really envy. I value it. I wish we had it. I feel this way for the Mormon Religion and their practice of Proxy Baptism in Temples. I wish we had doctrine to support Eternal Bonds between family members.' No other faith believes this! No other religion believes in the doctrine of eternal families! What a sad, heartbreaking belief. But Broken families are not in God's Plan. God is our Father. We are his children. God finds SO much Joy in HIS eternal family, that he gives us the opportunity to have families, to share the same joy that he has. In God's Temples, Families are sealed for time and all eternity under restored priesthood authority. What a wonderful truth!!! That is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith simply. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is so simple. Excuse my french, but its almost stupid how simple it is. The Lord has given each and every single one of us Everything. He blesses us more than we could ever repay him, and all that he asks in return is that we keep his commandments. We trust in his Son, Jesus Christ. That Simple! Sometimes we say, "I just don't know if I have the faith" or "I wish I had more faith." This is the incorrect approach. I've learned with all of my experiences that the Lord can do NOTHING in our lives unless we have Faith. Even a Particle of Faith will do the job. I believe we have to start each day of our lives with the attitude, "You know what, I don't know how much Faith I have. But starting now, I WILL SHOW YOU MY FAITH." That's how I live my faith, Hand to the plow and not looking back.
