Hi I'm Finn Johnston

I am an Athlete, I am a Student -- I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, my name is Finn and I like to party. One day I wish to be a legend. Not going to lie, that'd be pretty cool. I don't know how I'll get there... but we'll see what the future brings. I am planning on attending college at BYU Hawai'i once I get off my Mission in the Alpine German-Speaking Mission, speaking the most beautiful language on Earth. Other things I really enjoy are: Eating S'mores, Eating Snickers, Eating, Wearing Leather pants, Snowboarding, Singing, Dancing, Playing Sports, Doing Stunts and the list goes on and on. I do enjoy long walks on the beach, preferably during the sunset, though, I enjoy Sunrises more. So yes, That means I am a Morning person. That being said I do also enjoy, very much so, sleeping in and just having Lazy days. Days where I can wake up and be like, 'Today, I'm not doing anything', but then I get bored, so I try to stay busy. I still play with Legos and I'm still trying to figure out how to build a spaceship cooler, and faster, than the Millennium Falcon but my Lego skills just quite aren't there yet. I can't play the piano but I do pretend to play the Ukulele. Above all, however, I enjoy spending time with my family. I come from a large family, I am caught in the middle, and I wouldn't have it any other way. My favorite thing to do with my Family is road tripping to Disneyland and trying to beat each other's Super Mario records on a Gameboy Color. I couldn't imagine my life with out them and I am so thankful for every single one of them.

Why I am a Mormon

Life is hard. We make mistakes. We fall down. And when it seems that there is nobody else around, I found that, well, God is always there. I grew up in the Church, but I think there comes a time where we have to choose for ourselves. All throughout High School, I just kind of went through the motions, not really noticing what I was doing or why. Sure enough there came a time where everything I had built up came crashing down, and I had to find an answer. For myself. Needless to say I found that answer and that peace in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I found that God will always be there for us, and that his hand is always stretched out, to help us up. Another large part of my life comes from my Family. I love my Family, though I come from a relatively large one and it can be trying at times, I'm glad that I have had the opportunity to be Sealed to them for time and all eternity. I could not imagine losing any of them. It is a great blessing and peace in my life. I will be eternally greatful for this Church, and for my Savior, Jesus Christ. And that's why I'm a Mormon

How I live my faith

I live my faith by constantly trying to be more like my Savior and Redeemer Jesus Christ. Though times it can be hard, and I make mistakes, I try to always strive forward. Whether it's through serving others, going to church, praying, or reading the scriptures, I feel like there is always more I can do. I have served in several church callings and I am now serving on a 2 year mission for the Chuch, learning the celestial Sprache. It is through this service that I have found a love for those I have served, and will serve. I have come to realize that service is a great way to give back to my Heavenly Father. He has given me so much and there is only so much I can give back to him, and for me, that is through love and respect for my brothers and sisters, supporting them and giving my all to help them, as I search for self imporvement as well.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Finn Johnston
Honestly, everything. Take a moment and look around. None of what you see came about mearly by chance. The complexity of your body, the beauty of a sunrise, the stars and the moon, Nature as a whole, Oreos and Music -- They all testify that there is a God who loves us, and knows us each individually and that he has a plan for us. I have been lucky enough to catch a glimpse of this plan time and again and when you do, it just leaves you awestruck. There have been moments where I have been halfway across the world and have run into somebody who needed me -- me specifically-- And when moments like those happen, it's the most spectacular thing in the world. It also comes when you pray. When you speak to God, and when He talks back to you through a still small voice. All in all it is those heart warming feelings and moments that leave you speechless, that are the moments that testify of God. Show more Show less
