Hi I'm Ian

I grew up in Utah. I am a writer, photographer, traveler and fly fisherman. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the oldest out of 4 kids in a pretty happy awesome family. I am an avid outdoorsman. Fishing, hiking, camping, kayaking, rock climbing, longboarding, if it's in the open air I'm willing to try it. I hope to become an author and publish several novels and short stories. I love photography and storytelling. Right now I'm a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ, serving in the country of France.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ, but that doesn't mean I haven't had times of doubt about the validity of the Church. But all throughout my life I have seen such great blessings come from living the Gospel principles and following the teachings of Christ. The bedrock of my testimony is my family. This Gospel promises the great blessing of being able to live with them forever. They are my greatest support. I also have a testimony of the Book of Mormon. That wonderful book is why I am serving my mission. It has changed my life and continues to change it every time I read it and pray about it. It is true, totally and entirely. I also know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He loves us. By the power of His Atonement we can be comforted, strengthened and through it we can return to live with God again. No matter what I was ever going through, I knew that Christ undestood and that he was there to help.

How I live my faith

In my home ward I was a youth leader among the young men. I helped plan lots of the activities that the youth did and participated in the activites of course. I was also a Ward Family History consultant who helped the various members of the ward who were interested in Family History get started.
