Hi I'm Gunnar

I grew up in Utah, I love to train and compete in CrossFit and I am a Mormon.

About Me

One of my favorite things to do is to train and compete in CrossFit competitions. Last year I took second place at a big competition. I am so grateful for the Gospel of Jesus Christ in my life, it helps me overcome so many of life's daily trials and hardships. I believe it makes me a better athlete as well. I love to do physical things that not only challenge my body but my mind and my emotions. For that reason I have thought about joining the Marines after my mission like my dad. I love to read and learn about many different subjects. Life has so much to offer and is endlessly intriguing. I love to learn about science and the exploration of space. Perhaps i will become and astronaut one day as well. That is one of the blessings of agency is you can become whatever you want in life and i firmly believe that.

Why I am a Mormon

When i was younger I struggled from depression and trying to understand my purpose here on this earth. I searched endlessly for answers but all i found was things that confused me even more. I started to read the Book of Mormon and Pray. I felt of my Saviors love for me and the blessings he was waiting to bestow upon me. I saw my future in two paths, one that lead to unhappiness and one that showed me happy with a family sealed together for eternity in the temple of the Lord. I am a Mormon because I know this is the true church on earth today. That it was restored through the prophet Joseph Smith. That because of that I can have and eternal family and return to live with my Father in Heaven. I also know that through this Gospel it will help you to achieve a potential here on earth greater than you can imagine. I love to see the light in peoples eyes when they feel of the spirit and know for a surety this is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am a Mormon because I want to serve my fellow man, I want to make this earth a better place, and bring happiness to families across the world. This is my testimony, and bear witness of these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I love to go to church every sunday and partake of the Sacrament, re-committing my self to living the teaching of Jesus Christ. I recently became and Eagle Scout which I am very grateful to have participated in the scouting program. Currently I am a teacher for my church in one of the classes. I am grateful for the opportunity to teach and learn not only from the things I study to prepare but from my fellow classmates and the spirit. For the past six months I have been going to a children's hospital to volunteer my time. I hangout with the kids, play with them, fulfill requests they might have, hold babies, really anything the parents or children what to do. It has been such and enriching experience to spend times with the sick and the needy and the children of God. They hold such special spirit and innocence to them. Whenever I hold a baby I think of how amazing the gift of life is, about the struggles that lie before them and about my Savior Jesus Christ who will be there for them every step of the way. I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to serve inside and out of the church.

What is being a Mormon like?

Gunnar
Being a Mormon is like being a Jedi. I say that in a serious sense. You put yourself above the vain and crude things of the world and give selflessly to others. You are filled with happiness and the spirit(force) through your efforts. There is no greater feeling then you Heavenly Fathers love for you. Show more Show less
