Hi I'm Dawn

Hey, I'm Dawn! I stand tall at 4'10", from Utah, currently a sophomore in college, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I love to ski and snowboard in the Utah mountains, play piano, violin, sing, and act. I am currently a sophomore in college going into Elementary Education and can I say, college is seriously the best! I have been blessed to have wonderful friends come into my life and to have a family who is so supportive of me. I love being involved with everything and anything at the college, my work, or my faith. Some of my favorite games include Spike Ball, Werewolf, or even a simple card game while camping. I love to travel, gain new perspectives, and make new friends. I guess you could say I'm definitely a people person, have dreams I plan on reaching, and hope to live my life to it's fullest potential!

Why I am a Mormon

I've always grown up as a Mormon and since I live in Utah, the Mormon faith here is strong. It wasn't until I was about 15 though that I grew to have my own testimony, my own reasons of continuing being a member, and my own reasons of why I live my life a different way than what society thinks I should live it. I became converted to the beliefs and lifestyle of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and I continue to work every day to become a little more converted, a little more dedicated, and a little more like Christ. The Gospel of Jesus Christ has blessed my life more than words can even explain. The knowledge that there is a God, who is our Heavenly Father, that loves me, strengthens me, and cared enough for me to send his only begotten Son down to Earth so that I can live with Him and my family again gives me peace, faith, and hope. Peace, that no matter how hard my trials may be, Heavenly Father still loves me and will never leave me to be alone. Faith, that there is more to this life than pain and despair. And hope that I can experience true happiness in this life and share my knowledge of it to people so that they too can know of the fullness of the Gospel. I cannot deny the things which I have learned, felt, and experienced because I know them to be true. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only church with the COMPLETE gospel. I hope one day you as well will experience God's love for you, because I promise you, he loves you a lot! I know these things to be true, and I say them in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

One day in one of my religious classes at the LDS institute, I had an instructor who referred to going to church, praying, and reading your scriptures as spiritual personal hygiene. Similar to keeping up with your physical hygiene like showering, brushing your teeth, and putting on deodorant so you physically don't stink, when we go to church, pray, read scriptures and do other activities that bring us closure to Christ, we are keeping up with our spiritual hygiene so we don't "stink". I hope to live my life in good shape physically, spiritually and mentally and all of those require constant work and upkeep. I currently just moved back home from college so I do not have a calling in my ward, but I do have my call to serve a mission! So I've been preparing to leave on a mission in July to Wisconsin.
